The Lunigiana’s honey is the first to obtain from the European Union the Protected Designation of Origin.
The production area includes the 14 municipalities of Lunigiana.
The landscape, typically mountainous, has a many species vegetation with widespread acacia forests. Such traditionally conditions join with a low pollution permit to the Lunigiana to become the perfect environment for the development of a high quality beekeeping.
This honey has a light golden yellow color, a fluid consistency with a hint of caramel. It is a sweet honey, delicate with a citrus note of flowers. It is easy to digest, rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
